Review

I love time travel romances. Love, love, love them. I think they appeal to me so much because I want to travel back in time and marry an Irish warrior like Nioclas MacWilliam. They can be tricky to write well since it's obviously something that can get pretty complicated, but Nancy Scanlon pulls it off with panache.

Brianagh O'Rourke is a successful businesswoman, with a thriving matchmaking business. Her own love life might be somewhat lacklustre but that doesn't stop her from finding that perfect match for her clients. She's determined and kind, with a close knit family. She's a true believer in love and happy ever afters but has given up on her own, despite vivid dreams of a mysterious man.

Nioclas is the Laird of his clan and has been from a young age. He wants what's best for his clan and that means making a marriage for alliance with another clan. Nioclas is kind of perfect. He's strong and protective, without being overbearing. Whilst he's understandably skeptical about Brianagh's sudden appearance in his life and her claims to be from another time, he trusts in her and tries to understand.

I loved Brianagh and Nioclas's relationship. They have a strong physical chemistry, but they also have a deeper spiritual one that begins even before they meet. The romantic scenes in the story are clean, with sex happening behind closed doors, but you can still feel the passion they have for each other. They support each other and build a true relationship as the story progresses.

Overall, I really enjoyed this story. I've not read anything by Nancy Scanlon before but I'll definitely be keeping up with this series. The other characters were brought to life as well and I loved Brianagh and Nioclas' families. I'll be looking forward to their stories! This is time travel romance done right. The different threads of the story were woven together to create an engaging and magical romance that sweeps away you to another time.

*I received a review copy for my honest opinion. Thank you!

About the Author

Born and raised near Boston, Massachusetts, Nancy Scanlon wrote her first romance novel at age 16, when she realized that fictional boyfriends were much easier to figure out than real ones. In the time since, she managed to earn a degree in English, obtain a graduate certificate in creative writing from the University of Cambridge, and marry the man of her dreams (but she still holds tight to her fictional boyfriends).

Currently, she resides in Puerto Rico with her husband, two children, and two dogs. When not writing, Nancy spends her time reading, reviewing and blogging about romance novels, watching too much HGTV, and taking care of her family.
