You can follow the rules or you can follow your heart...

Sienna Murphy never does anything without a plan. And so far her plans have been working. Right after college, she got a prestigious job and gained the stability she'd always craved - until work takes her to the sun-drenched shores of Oahu and places her in the path of sexy surfer Luke Everett. For the first time, she lets her heart take control. Drawn to his carefree charm, she makes a spontaneous and very un-Sienna-like decision to drop everything and stay in Hawaii for two more weeks.

Luke lives fast and wild. When he meets Sienna, he's convinced that some no-strings-attached fun is just what she needs. As their nights quickly turn from playful to passionate, Luke can't deny the deep connection he feels. But there's a reason Luke doesn't do long-term. He can't promise Sienna forever, when the enormity of his past has shown him just how fragile the future can be . . .

Review

The story starts with our heroine, Sienna Murphy, when she flies to Hawaii to organise a wedding as part of her job as an events coordinator. Sienna is good at her job and works her ass off so she no longer has to worry about money, but her heart isn't really in it any more. Growing up poor means Sienna never wants to live the stressful lifestyle her parents had, but her job doesn't leave her time to enjoy her life. Sienna thinks her life is in order, until a chance meeting with a laid-back surfer makes her question her whole life.

Luke lives a seemingly carefree life teaching surfing to tourists in Hawaii. He's a daredevil with several adrenaline-fueled hobbies, so he's basically living a life that's the polar opposite of Sienna's. But he's been where she is, he's lived that same sort of life and something makes him want to reach out to her.

Luke and Sienna have a connection that draws them to each other instantly, even when they both know they can't pursue it since Sienna's leaving so soon. Then Sienna makes the impulsive decision to stay with Luke in Hawaii for two weeks. They have a flirtatious relationship, but this is definitely a slow build romance. They spend time really getting to know each other as Luke opens Sienna's eyes to the life she could have and challenges her.

As Luke challenges Sienna's life, the author does the same for the reader and it really does make you consider your own life and how you're living it. Luke and Sienna have a sweet and believable romance, that grows into a strong and sure love and that's at the heart of the story.

*I received a review copy from the publisher, for my honest opinion. Thank you!
