Release Date: 21 May 2015
Publisher: Sphere
Falling in love is never simple. Especially when you're dead.
When Rosie Potter wakes up one morning with what she assumes is the world's worst hangover, the last thing she expects is to discover that she's actually dead. With a frustrating case of amnesia, suspicious circumstances surrounding her untimely demise, and stuck wearing her ugliest flannel PJs, Rosie must figure out not only what happened last night, but why on earth she's still here.
Slowly the mystery unravels, but there are many other secrets buried in the quiet Irish village of Ballycarragh, and nobody is as innocent as they first appear. Aided by the unlikeliest of allies in her investigation, Rosie discovers that life after death isn't all it's cracked up to be, particularly when you might just be falling in love . . .
In this hilarious, life-affirming and romantic journey through Rosie Potter's afterlife, she shares the ghostly tale of how she lived, she died, and she loved (in that order).

Review
Rosie Potter wakes up with what she can only assume is a raging hangover, and a weird one at that. She doesn't remember anything from the night before but it's the only explanation....until she sees her own body still lying on her bed accompanied by a fair amount of blood. So, she's dead. Trouble is, she's not sure how it happened or who did it to her. Rosie doesn't see a light and doesn't seem to be going anywhere, so she decides she must be hanging aorund in order to discover the identity of her killer. As she investigates and spends time with the loved ones she's left behind, the more she realises that she's been blind about the people closest to her.
What could have been a rather serious setup, after all Rosie is trying to unravel the mystery of her death and who killed her, was actually a very fun comedy at times. Rosie may be dead but she's not lost her sense of humour. Since no one can see her but she can move things around, she decides to haunt her potential murderer with some rather hilarious results.
The romance in this story was always going to be rather bittersweet. It turns out that only one person can see Rosie and she finally realises that he is the very man she could have built a beautiful life with, but now it's too late. Death can not be undone, and her future has been lost to her. Despite that, it's very sweet to see the two draw closer as he helps her with her investigation. I wish there could have been more between the two of them, but I thought the way things turned out suits the story and was the perfect route to go down.
This is one bittersweet, rollicking rollercoaster that sends you spinning through a wide variety of emotions. Most of the time I was grinning away, but that ending made me cry buckets. It's an utterly refreshing read and a charming take on a paranormal story. Just make sure you have a tissue ready at the end.
*I received a review copy from the publisher, for my honest opinion. Thank you!
