Q: We are about to see a lot of posts & tweets about reader conventions, RT, BEA, ALA and many more are starting soon. Which one would you love to attend? Where and why?
Oh God! This question makes me want to cry. I want to go to a reader convention SO badly! I especially want to go to the RT convention- and in 2014 it's going to be in New Orleans- which I've always wanted to visit! Unfortunately I can't even contemplate going because it's going to be during my third year University exams :( Plus it's kind of far away...
If anyone knows any good book conventions that happen in the UK, I'd love to hear about them because I have no idea what they are or when they are!
Which conventions are you most excited about going to, or would like to go to? Any UK readers out there know if there are any good conventions in the UK?

I would love to attend the one in New Orleans too!!
ReplyDeleteIt looks so good, and I'd love to go to New Orleans!
DeleteI feel the same way about BEA! I'm going to be quite sad when I see all the posts from the conventions up :/
ReplyDeleteI can't attend this year, but I'd love to in 2014!

BEA looks great too!
DeleteI want to attend RT. Glasgow has a book fair every year (I attended when I lived there in 2008). It's called Aye Write and there's the London Book Fair.
ReplyDeleteJessica @ Literary, etc (old follower)
Great suggestions, thanks! Aye Write is perfect for me because I'm only in Edinburgh, although I can't go this year, so I'll probably go next year :)
DeleteAh you're in Edinburgh so there's the Edinburgh International Book Festival held usually in August along with the Edinburgh fringe, etc.
DeleteThat is terrible timing on my part lol, I'm away all of August! Thanks for letting me know though, I will definitely have to go next year!
DeleteOh that's a bummer! I really want to go to RT next year as well because I want to see New Orleans as well!

I went to New Orleans a long long time ago, back in 2001 for Mardi Gras. I was only 19 and went with three friends of mine. One of those friends is now my husband, lol. We were just friends when we went on the trip, and it was totally on a whim. I live in Ohio, so it was mostly driving but worth it. I'd like to go to the RT in New Orleans next year, too, but I won't be able to. I have two kids and baby-sit my eight-month-old niece. I hope you get to go to a convention very soon! :)

It was def a wild time, lol! My husband and I have wanted to go back when it isn't Mardi Gras time to see what it's like. It's very beautiful there. You'll go someday soon, I know it! :D

I think there are some small ones, but definitely not on the same scale as the American ones :(
DeleteThanks for following!
I wish there was some in Australia, but I don't think there really is. :( Oh well, in the future I imagine we can all be there holographically or something.
ReplyDeleteNew follower
Or maybe someone will invent teleportations- that's what I'm aiming for lol
